Walk awake through Oakland neighborhoods with us and you might find some compelling observation points worth taking notes behind (or leaving dream-like drawings in front of). The fascinating world of its denizens, their domiciles and a whole panoply of natural and built systems has, of course, many surprises. In fact, surprises and wonder may define our slopes and shores. We traced and retraced a stretch of Glen Echo Creek and the de-commissioned C-Line of the old Key System urban railroad looking for connections and resonances. The 40th Street Cut reassembles our amblings and history-glimpses into a curious and enigmatic new image of itself.
